Sohu.com Inc. (NASDAQ: SOHU | PowerRating) has agreed to join forces with Easou.com, a leading mobile Internet search engine in China, as the Nasdaq-listed online service provider looks to make an inroad in the fast-growing mobile search market.

Sohu.com will work with Easou.com in technology and content for business expansion, according to a cooperation agreement the two partners inked earlier.

As part of the collaboration, the cooperators have launched a WAP-based search service. Technologically supported by Easou.com, the new service enables mobile phone users to get an access to the information available on the Internet anytime and anywhere.

Headquartered in Shenzhen, Easou.com is a pioneer in the wireless search engine market in China, overshadowing its peers in wireless data application technology and intelligent search system.

A group of leading online service providers in the country are looking to jump into the mobile search market in a bid to tap into the potentially huge demand in the 3G era.
